Instructional Strategies

Fingering charts, rhythm charts, and scales to every student.

Start by: Sight read music

Next: teach notes and rhythms

Then: Listen to professional recordings of the music. Teach historical and/or cultural concepts. Teach musical terminology (Dynamics, articulations, tempo). Teach phrasing, balance, add finishing touches.

Finally: Performance
